Veggie Steak

INGREDIENTS

1 onion, minced
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tofu, mashed
¼ cup grated carrots
¼ cup grated singkamas
½ cup mashed kamote
6 slices white bread, shredded, soaked in
1 pack NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream 250ml
1 egg beaten
1 sachet 8g MAGGI MAGIC SARAP
¼ cup all-purpose flour
cooking oil for frying

Gravy:
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 cup NESTLÉ FRESH Milk
¼ cup NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream
pinch of MAGGI MAGIC SARAP
salt and pepper to taste

PROCEDURE

  1. In a big bowl combine ingredients for burger patty. Mix well to fully incorporate. Set aside in the refrigerator for 30-45 minutes.
  2. Heat cooking oil. Scoop around ½ cup of meat mixture and form into a patty. Pan fry in the hot oil for 2 minutes on each side or until desired doneness is achieved. Transfer on plates lined with paper towel to drain excess oil. Set aside.
  3. Prepare gravy by combining butter and flour on a heavy bottom pan. Thin by pouring in NESTLÉ FRESH Milk and NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream. Season with MAGGI MAGIC SARAP, salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Serve prepared burger patties on top of steamed rice. Drizzle with gravy before serving.
