Spicy Bean Cakes

Who says burgers can’t be healthy? #Wellnessize them with this tasty, all-veggie substitute!

INGREDIENTS

1 cup boiled monggo beans, well drained
1 medium onion, minced
2 fi nger chilis, stemmed, seeded and minced
¼ tsp ground cumin
½ cup NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream
1 8g MAGGI MAGIC SARAP
salt and pepper to taste
peanut oil for frying
Fresh Tomato Salsa: Combine -
½ cup chopped onions
½ cup chopped tomatoes
juice of ½ lemon
1 siling labuyo, minced
1 tsp sugar
salt and pepper to taste

PROCEDURE

  1. Mash boiled beans to a textured purée with a food processor or potato masher.
  2. Transfer to a bowl and stir in onions, finger chilis, cumin, NESTLÉ All Purpose Cream, MAGGI MAGIC SARAP, salt and pepper.
  3. Measure around ¼ cup of the mixture, form into a patty and fry in hot peanut oil. Cook for 1 minute on each side or until golden brown. Transfer on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  4. Serve with Fresh Tomato Salsa on the side.
