Creamy Chicken Congee with Crispy Tokwa and Fried Wonton

INGREDIENTS

2 tbsp cooking oil
1 tbsp sliced ginger
1 tbsp garlic
1 small onion, chopped
½ cup cooked, shredded chicken breast
¼ cup malagkit rice, soaked in water for 10 mins, drained
½ cup regular rice, soaked in water for 10 minutes, drained
18g sachet MAGGI MAGIC SARAP
1 tsp patis
4 cups water
¼ cup chopped spring onions
¼ cup NESTLE All Purpose Cream
2 pieces tokwa, cubed and fried
20 pieces wonton wrappers, sliced into strips and fried.

PROCEDURE

  1. Heat cooking oil. Saute ginger, garlic and onion together and cook until wilted and fragrant. Stir in chicken. Add rice and season with MAGGI MAGIC SARAP and patis.
  2. Pour in water and simmer until boiling. Cook for 15 minutes more or until rice is puffed. Add more water if necessary.
  3. When rice is cooked, turn off heat and add cream. Top with fried tokwa and wonton wrapper before serving.
